What to Expect

We know that visiting a place for the first time can be a bit intimidating, so we thought it might be helpful to introduce our church building and Sunday services to you so you can know what to expect. Check out the video below and you can also read answers to some common questions people have before coming to visit for their first time.

Who can come to church?
Anyone and everyone can come along. We welcome everyone to our services whether you are sceptical or curious about faith, or whether you are a new Christian, a Christian new to the area or a long term follower of Jesus looking for a new church. All are welcome here.
Who comes to PBC?
This is one of the things we love about our church. We have a broad range of ages, from our pumping children’s ministry through to young families, young adults, empty nesters and retirees with a mix of marrieds and singles of all ages. We come from different backgrounds, cultures and work in a diverse range of occupations. No matter where you are in life, you will be able to find friends within your life stage. More important than that though, you will be blessed by the fact we are like a big diverse family all celebrating together.
How long does a service go for?
We aim to keep our services to around 75minutes, but sometimes we are having so much fun they do go for a few minutes extra! We would also encourage anyone coming to plan on hanging around for an extra bit after the service to get the chance to meet some of us (and to enjoy some morning tea in between our morning services or supper after our evening service).
What happens with children?
During school terms we run a kid’s church program in both our morning services for pre-school up to and including year 8. We start with the children in the service, either sitting down the front with other children or with their parents if they prefer. After about 20mins the children and young people go to their various programs where they have an amazingly fun time and learn about God in age-appropriate ways. We also have a parent’s room available with an audio-link for those with babies, where you can view and hear the service with a greater degree of privacy. For those under 3 years of age we also run a rostered supervision during the service which we call ‘Livewires’.
Do you take up an offering?
We do take up an offering during the service. This offering goes to support our various programs, ministries, missionaries, pastors and helps to cover the running costs of our facility. There is no expectation that anyone visiting would give during our offering.
What should I bring?
Just bring yourself and any friends or family you wish to bring along with you. We make sure the words of the Bible are on the projector screen so that everyone can follow along, but you are welcome to bring your own Bible if you have one. If you don’t and would like one, just ask as we would love to give you one to keep.
What should I wear?
There’s no dress code and most people wear casual clothes to any church program or service, so feel free to wear whatever you are comfortable in.
