It is impossible to overstate the significance of the book of Genesis. It sets the scene for all that follows - all the way through to the Book of Revelation. Genesis provides answers to the biggest questions of life - where did I come from? Does my life have meaning? Is there a God and if so, what is that God like? Over the coming weeks we will explore the first 11 chapters of Genesis, seeking to understand both the intent of the author back then and the implications for us today. Pray that the Holy Spirit, through the word of God, will fill us with a sense of awe and wonder as we set our hearts and minds upon our Creator God. May we also be strengthened as we lay hold of our identity and purpose that is found in Him.
