Young Adults

Our young adult space at PBC, brings together a diverse and vibrant concoction of people who are navigating their own experience of early adulthood. If you are a young adult, we’d love for you to connect in with our young adult community.

Below you can find out how to do just that.

YOUNGADULTs

Here are the key areas within our young adult ministry at PBC.

If you have any questions about our young adult ministry, Ben Wilson would love to help you out.

Small groups

Weekly

Small groups are the life blood of our young adult community. These groups meet mid-week, across various meeting spaces. Each group is focused on intimate discipleship – intimacy: we get to be well known and know well a small group of brothers and sisters in Christ, and discipleship: a space where we are growing in living and loving like Jesus.

Practically, there will be opportunity to open the Bible, receive prayer, share a meal, find personal support and connect meaningfully with other young adults.

Interested in joining a group?

Worship with us

Weekly

You are invited to come worship with us each Sunday. We’d love for you to join us at any of our Sunday worship gatherings (8.45am, 10.45am or 5.30pm) although a large number of young adults are a part of the 5.30pm congregation. We meet as a church family each week to worship God, learn, grow and invite God to speak into our lives through His word. We welcome anyone who wants to explore faith, as well as those who desire a faith-community to call home.

Most weeks after the service, there is an informal opportunity to continue connecting over dinner with other young adults (another great way to meet others).

YA all-in gatherings

Termly

All young adults are welcome to join us as at these nights of community-wide connection and discipleship. We on a Saturday near the beginning of each term, and each time we gather we… a) share a meal together (a great chance to connect with YAs beyond your immediate circles), b) worship together (uniting ourselves and our focus on Chrst), and c) explore discipleship (unpacking individual elements of Jesus-following that is relevant for all of us).

If you’re a young adult, come and join us throughout 2024. We will be gathering on:

August 3 (term 3) – 6.30-9.30pm at church. We’ll be exploring ecclesiology & inviting our senior pastors for an anonymous QnA about what it means to ‘be church’ at PBC. Please click the button below to let us know you are coming (for catering) and to submit questions ahead of time.

November 2 (term 4) – lock in the date, more deets to come.

Young adult events

Occasional

Throughout the year, we organise young adult specific events to facilitate connections among our community and to simply enjoy sharing life with one another. Perhaps we’ll whip out some board games or light a bonfire or organise a scavenger hunt or kick around a soccer ball or head out for dinner. We understand that people may not be interested in all the events in our calendar but none the less, all young adults are welcome to join us (even those from beyond PBC).

Young adult weekend away (YAWA)

Annual

Once a year, we head away as a young adult community. This weekend is a memorable weekend of connection piled on with worship and nestled in with some life-giving Bible-based messages. We would love to see all our young adults join us at YAWA and welcome any young adults who are interested in joining our community. This truly is a tank-filling, life-giving event in calendar.

In 2024, we are heading to Cru camps’ site in Galston Gorge on October 11-13. Registrations will open early August.
